Christopher Hynes
Christopher David Hynes is a contemporary American sculptor known for transforming reclaimed scrap metal into powerful mixed-media works of art. A graduate of the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, Hynes first began experimenting with industrial materials under the mentorship of fine artist John Williams.
Beginning his process in local junkyards, Hynes reimagines discarded metal into striking sculptural forms. His recent works focus on critically endangered species, exploring the tension between the fragility of nature and the harsh permanence of man-made steel.
Recognized as one of the pioneers of the emerging scrap metal art movement, Hynes’ sculptures merge raw material with refined craftsmanship — creating pieces that are both bold and deeply symbolic.
